Thank you, San Francisco

On Tuesday, voters overwhelmingly approved making the JFK Promenade permanently safe for kids, families, seniors, and people of all abilities.

We’re thrilled that a large majority of voters share our vision for public spaces that prioritize safe access and recreation for kids, seniors, people with disabilities, and all San Franciscans.

Volunteers at our last coalition rally on JFK on November 5, 2022.

We’re also incredibly proud of YOU! This victory happened because so many volunteers and partner organizations came together to protect what we love. We want to say a huge THANK YOU to each and every one of you who worked so hard for this victory.

This win is about the future of San Francisco.

Our city voted this week to prioritize people in our parks. We must now continue to prioritize safety on our streets, the climate for our kids, and the health of every resident.

Spaces like the JFK Promenade and Great Highway Park are essential to our future. As we build more housing and our population grows, safe, protected space for recreation will become even more important to the health and well-being of San Franciscans.

This victory is just the beginning. The growing movement for safe open space and active transportation in our city is stronger than ever, and each and every one of you are at the heart of that.

The JFK Promenade is just getting started as one of San Francisco's most treasured and joyful public spaces.

Come celebrate it with us again on Saturday Nov. 12 from 12 - 4pm at the beer garden on JFK at 14th.

Then, we’ll get back to work, because every neighborhood in San Francisco deserves a Promenade that people can walk, roll, bike or scoot to.

Together, we can create a more hopeful and more just future for our kids, our parks, our streets and our city.
